A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Fleet Engineer to join our teams in Kent and Surrey with responsibility for six depots in this region operating 359 PCVs, fleet maintenance and team management of both Engineering Managers, fitters, technicians and cleaner/fueller/shunters within those depots.

You will manage the engineering budget across all depots, ensuring you gain maximum efficiencies within the regional operation. Experience within buses is preferred and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing a similar operation. An understanding of the legislation surrounding commercial fleet maintenance (including Health and Safety) with the ability to identify areas for improvement and drive change within the team leading from the front.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, the role is also responsible to the Area Managing Director, so the ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, influence and advise on issues analysing data and spend effectively.

  • Demonstrable understanding of commercial fleet maintenance

Centaur Coaches are seeking to recruit a competent and motivated PCV Fleet Engineer to join our engineering team at our Dartford depot.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will help to deliver exceptional transport services through their professional approach and attention to detail.

This role includes preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT, routine safety inspections, carrying out vehicle road tests, diagnostic work, general repairs, servicing and parts replacement and attending on-road vehicle breakdowns.

Successful candidates will have a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (i.e. City & Guilds level 1 & 2), have good working knowledge of all PCV vehicle systems and DVSA inspection standards and can work safely, efficiently and reliably in a busy and diverse envi-ronment. A valid PCV license and previous experience in the passenger transit industry is an advantage but not a necessity.

Working weekly shifts on a rota with a salary of £35,000.00 to £40,000.00/year (dependent on experience), 28 days holiday inc. public holidays, pension enrolment, free travel on the company’s commuter services & opportunities to progress for the right candidate.

Centaur Travel have immediate vacancies for reliable and motivated Full Time and Casual PCV Drivers to work on our Private Hire and Commuter routes based at our  Crayford and West Kent depots.

This will be a varied work pattern including, days, nights, weekends and bank holidays based on an average 40 hour week (F/T) with potential earnings of over £525 per week.

The successful applicant(s) will be required to work within a 24 hour shift system in line with current legislation, will need to be safety conscious, have an enthusiastic attitude to work, excellent customer service, communication and driving skills as well as a good geographical knowledge.

The successful applicant(s) must possess a UK Category D / PCV licence and ideally have a CPC. (Certain penalty points are permitted, however all driving licences will be vetted by our insurance underwriters).
