Clarkes of London are part of National Express Group and is a long-established provider of private hire and commuter coach travel services in London and the south of England. We provide a high quality service and work with a number of corporate clients including premiership football clubs and international tour operators.
We are currently looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to join our friendly and supportive team. As an Assistant Operations Manager you will effectively plan and manage all aspects of the operational requirements. The successful candidate will deliver safe & high quality services in line with specified targets, contractual obligations and commercial objectives, ensuring the punctual delivery of coach services to our customers.
Oversee the operations team and driving staff to ensure consistent delivery of reliable and punctual service
Develop methods of delivery to maintain daily service output meeting defined specifications, within agreed budgetary and efficiency targets
Ensure all services operate safely and in strict accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and legal requirements
Plan and allocate duties in accordance with EC Drivers Hours Regulations and monitor & manage duties effectively whilst meeting Working Time Regulations (Road Transport Directive)
Respond to all customer feedback, if required investigate and action appropriately
Manage all aspects of workplace and operational safety,
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Previous, proven experience in a similar role within the transport industry
Excellent people management skills and ability to achieve the best results through people
Great understanding of the road passenger transport sector, including all relevant regulations and operational requirements
Good working knowledge of all daily site procedures, health and safety regulations, employment legislation, and people management practices
Flexible approach to working hours and ability to respond to out of hours incidents
Experience in working within a unionised environment
Ability to identify and develop areas of improvement within the business
PCV Driving Licence – preferred (no more than 3 penalty points)
You may have previous experience in the following; operations, management, HGV, transport, engineering, automotive, manufacturing, logistics, team leading, supervising, health and safety.
