Reporting to the Commercial Director, the new post of Commercial Manager based at Stagecoach Yorkshire Head Office at Eldon Arcade in Barnsley town centre will play a key part in the development and delivery of the Company’s commercial strategy.
Stagecoach Yorkshire operates a fleet of 400 buses across South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire and into West Yorkshire from five depots located in Barnsley, Rotherham, Chesterfield and Sheffield. In addition the company, which employees a team of 1,200 staff, provides drivers for Stagecoach’s megabus.com services and operates National Express scheduled coach services under contract.
As a member of the Senior Management Team you will contribute to the future direction of the business and achievement of the budgetary and key performance indicator targets by undertaking detailed and accurate patronage, revenue and performance data analysis and producing recommendations that inform and drive commercial decisions on service level provision, fares pricing and concessionary fare reimbursement.
In addition you will work closely with the Commercial Director to provide revenue and passenger forecasts and budgets and support the wider Director team with financial analysis and reporting systems and provide support with budget and forecast compilation.
The role requires a flexible approach from a dedicated, dependable, innovative, numerate, focussed and enthusiastic person and would ideally suit someone looking to develop their career and gain skills in readiness for future progression to a Commercial Director post. The holder of this exciting new post will have a blend of financial and commercial experience together with effective analytical, communications and people management skills and will be expected to work seamlessly with the Directors, Operations, Engineering, Commercial and Central Finance team.
