As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Coach and Private Hire Director to join our leadership team and help drive the next phase of our success.

The Divisional Director of Coach and Private Hire will be responsible for overseeing the day-to -day operations of our Inter-city and Private Hire businesses. Management of clients relations and group businesses development in the sector. This is a senior leadership position that requires a strategic and results-oriented individual who is capable of managing a wide range of operational and commercial functions. This role will be a driving focus in developing and implementing business strategies, ensuring optimal service delivery, driving operational excellence, contract compliance and leading a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term business strategies for growth, profitability, and operational excellence in the Inter-city coach and private hire sectors.
  • Operations Management: Oversee all operational activities, including fleet management, route planning, scheduling and vehicle maintenance to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness.
  • Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement strategies to improve revenue generation and cost control.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of operational managers and staff, ensuring high levels of performance, morale and professional development.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained across all touchpoints, from booking to travel experience, while responding to customer feedback and concerns.
  • Compliance and safety: Ensure the business adheres to all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to drive growth and increase market share.
  • Technology Integration: Lead the implementation and optimisation of technology solutions for route management, booking systems, and customer management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain string relationships with clients, suppliers, and key partners to enhance business opportunities and brand reputation.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior management or director-level role within the transport, coaching or related industry (experience in Inter-city coach services or private hire is highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of operations management, including fleet management, scheduling, and customer service.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a driven team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies that drive growth and improve profitability.
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecast, and cost control measures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirement and safety standards within the transport sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Results- driven, with a proven track record of achieving operational and financial targets.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
