CVRM Workshop Manager – Preston Bus – Preston

At Preston Bus Limited, we keep our fleet – and the communities we serve – moving. As our CVRM Workshop Manager, you’ll be at the heart of it all and our future growth. Our CVRM department is expanding in the near future to include an ATG lane and MOT services. Managing a skilled team, optimizing workshop operations, and ensuring every vehicle that leaves our depot is safe, compliant, and road-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the CVRM workshop, ensuring efficiency, safety, and productivity
- Lead and develop a team of technicians, apprentices, and support staff
- Schedule and allocate work, ensuring deadlines and service standards are met
- Oversee diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance processes
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Manage workshop budgets, stock levels, and equipment maintenance
- Liaise with other departments and external customers to ensure service quality and satisfaction
- Drive continuous improvement in workshop performance and service delivery
- Reviewing inspection reports, signing off and managing recalls
Requirements:
Proven experience in a workshop supervisor or management role within commercial vehicle maintenance
- Strong technical knowledge of HGVs, LGVs, and related systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Knowledge of relevant health & safety regulations and workshop compliance standards
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) preferred
- Proficient in workshop management systems and reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable)
