Job Description
Tomorrows Travel are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager.
Founded in early 2023, Tomorrows Travel has quickly grown to become a trusted, go to operator in the area for contracts, event travel & private hire.
We operate a fleet of smart buses & coaches on a mixture of work from home to school/college contracts, workplace transport, some rail replacement, private hire, UK coach tours & event transport.
What will you be doing in this role?
You will be leading your team from the front, ensuring excellence is delivered to our clients and ensuring your team are ready to deliver it.
The role is full time, managing a team of drivers and supervisor on a full time basis.
As such, you will be responsible for the following areas as part of the role:
- Ensuring Day to day operations run effectively, smoothly & on time.
- Provide effective communication to relevant parties, putting measures in place to minimise any disruption.
- Play your part in managing our relationships with various stakeholders.
- Ongoing recruitment of your key driving team, finding the right people to present our business to it’s valued clients.
- Manage the training needs for your team, while actively challenging negative behaviour & actively search for potential development opportunity within the business.
- Use management information to plan effective resourcing with the bus & coach hire manager to utilise the team most effectively while striking the balance with fairness, variety & fair rest patterns.
- Oversee compliance alongside the Transport Managers/Directors.
- Communicate with all colleagues in the business by email, WhatsApp, phone & face to face.
- Ensure our vehicles are clean & roadworthy for every hire, you are the eyes on the ground for ensuring our vehicles are presented correctly so attention to fine detail is key.
- This role collaborates with our Bus & Coach Hire Manager, ensuring operational efficiency is met through utilisation & productivity, pulling out all the stops to provide customer satisfaction & top level service delivery, stepping in during their absence to ensure we continue to deliver our service levels & responses to enquiries within our service level agreement. As such, being commercially minded is essential for this role.

- Be the go-to person for the team, be knowledgeable, approachable & build a rapport with colleagues.
- You must possess experience of managing or overseeing a team in the bus & coach industry, leading by example and rolling your sleeves up with the best of them. Be able, willing and demonstrate strong leadership qualities, leading by example in your duties.
- Knowledge of Coach Manager & Tachomaster is desirable, however, training can be provided.
- You should ideally possess a valid Transport Manager CPC, although training can be sought for the right candidate.
